English Essay Competition

 

1.      Background

We would like to publish a school magazine to celebrate our 40th anniversary. To share your happiness, you, your parent and our past students are now cordially invited to join this valuable event with us by submitting an article.

 

2.      Criterion

Group A: J.1-J.6 students

Group B: Past students or parents of existing students

All participants are welcome to design your own topics related to our school without restriction.  The submission must be in English and all genres are accepted.  Some topics are listed as follows for your reference:

 

I love this school

My school

My school and me

40 years of the school

I grow up in this school

My days in this school

Happiness in this school

My heart, my school

 

Group A:       J.1-2 students: ³ 60 words

                     J.3-4 students: ³ 100 words

                     J.5-6 students: ³ 150 words

Group B:       ³ 300 words

 

3.      Award

There are 3 awards: Champion, 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up separately for 3 groups in Group A. Certificates and souvenirs will also be presented to submissions from Group A.  For submission from Group B, souvenirs will be presented.

 

4.      Deadline

9 November 07         (Group A)

5 December 07         (Group B)

 

5.      Submission Guidelines

All submissions from Group A should be handed to your English teachers.

Submission from Group B could be handed in by the following methods:

a)      send the submission in MS Word file format to y40@ycps.edu.hk with title ˇ§40th Anniversary of Yaumati Catholic Primary School (Hoi Wang Road) English Essay Competitionˇ¨

b)      submit to the school office

c)      mail to our school.  The address is ˇ§Yaumati Catholic Primary School (Hoi Wang Road), 10 Hoi Wang Road, Kowloonˇ¨.  Please kindly state ˇ§40th Anniversary of Yaumati Catholic Primary School (Hoi Wang Road) English Essay Competitionˇ¨ on the envelope.

 

6.      Remarks

i)                    All submissions should be the original draft and not publised for any other purposes.  We will not return the essays to participants. All participants should keep a copy of their essay.
